Anthem News is reporting that the Anthem Community Council is considering a developer’s proposal to build a 6,583-square-foot freestanding emergency room in Anthem, in the Fry’s shopping center complex to be exact. I was actually thinking that spot would make a great location for a Chic-fil-a! Seems a bit small for an emergecy room, but that’s just this writer’s opinion.

According to Andrew Jordan, spokesperson for Adeptus Health, The proposed Arizona General Hospital ER would be a 24-hour outpatient facility staffed with a board certified emergency physician, an emergency-trained registered nurse and a radiology technician. If approved, construction would likely take 6-8 months.

There is a meeting related to this where representatives from Arizona General Hospital with the Anthem Community Council will present plans for the emergency room. It takes place Thursday, June 12, 2014 at 6:30 pm in the Civic Building at 3701 W. Anthem Way.

What do you think? Good idea or not?
